Our students require acute one-on-one attention to perform to their abilities in school. Our volunteers come in from 3:30-5:30 to help the children in Math, English, Science, and other school work.
If students do not have homework, they are provided with new study materials from our organization to practice what they already learned in school. This way, they can re-jog their memory and stay up-to-date with their learning!
Apart from helping them with their school-related work, we also give them opportunities to explore their creativity and critical thinking skills.
They have access to many puzzle-like resources that push their intellectual abilities to discover new horizons. On the left you can see students involved in different types of scientific projects.
We are proud to see that some of our students have also won various STEM competitions.
While helping with their language development, we provide the kids with their own reading library. Story books as well as educational books we available for children of all ages.
Books are read to the pre-schoolers by our volunteers. While, the students that are learning to read or need more practice are helped by the volunteers as well.
Children who know how to read are given assignments to write a book report explaining what happened. This helps our volunteers gauge the progress of each child to address their weaknesses individually.
Instead of focusing on only the educational pursuits of our children, we have learned that, “A sound mind is in a sound body.” So we always give healthy snacks after every session.
We understand that children will be children. Sometimes they may feel like they want to play games and enjoy. We host programs and activities for that as well.
Other non-profit organizations provide our children with the opportunity to attend basketball & football games and many other events. We have the privilege to host summer camps, take children to adventure parks, and so on.
We also celebrate Christmas by giving them gifts. Hosting fundraisers so that our children can have necessary stationary and school items for a year at least.
